teresa is currently working on a book manuscript, tentatively titled Bordering Knowledge/Knowledge’s Borders, which examines the vexing role of noncitizen students in U.S. public higher education, bringing together archival work, interviews, and legal studies to understand how the university has historically become a functionary of the migration industry and security state.
teresa is enamored by things within things – containers, documents, infrastructures, texts. She also values multi-modal ways of engaging with research, like zines, games, and performances.
Research Interests: infrastructures, labor, migration, higher education
